Melaleuca has been used for centuries to help the immune system; it acts as a stimulant and helps the body fight off disease, bacteria, infection, virus and illness. There are so many different uses for Melaleuca oil like healing wounds, chicken pox, athletes foot, acne, & warts, but one of my favorite uses is to kill bacteria that accumulates on our toothbrushes.
Your toothbrush is home to more than 100 million bacteria including E. coli andstaphylococci (Staph) bacteria, according to researchers at the University of Manchester in England. Gross!
– To kill that bacteria just place one drop of Melaleuca oil on your toothbrush 1-2 times a week. This is also great to do when you get home from vacation before putting that toothbrush away that you won’t be using until next vacation.
I love simple tips like this that keep us and our home a healthy one!
